Could a simpler surgery spare breast cancer patients from unnecessary side effects?

NCT ID NCT07643584

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether people with advanced breast cancer that has spread to lymph nodes can safely have a less extensive armpit surgery after chemotherapy. Instead of removing many lymph nodes, doctors will remove only a few and then give radiation. The goal is to see if this approach works just as well at preventing cancer from coming back, while possibly causing fewer side effects. About 120 adults aged 18 to 80 with a specific type of breast cancer will take part.
