First seen Dec 23, 2025 · Last updated Apr 11, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study aims to see if the position a woman gives birth in affects her risk of developing stress urinary incontinence after having a baby. Researchers will follow 669 first-time mothers, grouping them by whether they deliver lying on their back, upright, or on their side. They will then check the mothers' pelvic floor function six weeks after birth to see which position is linked to better outcomes.
