Calming the storm: new hope for cancer patients in distress
NCT ID NCT03021486
Summary
This study tests different medication approaches to calm severe agitation and confusion (delirium) in advanced cancer patients receiving palliative care. Researchers compare three strategies for patients who haven't responded to initial low-dose treatment: increasing the standard medication dose, switching to an alternative medication, or using both together. The goal is to find the most effective way to ease distressing symptoms and improve comfort during serious illness.
