New study to measure antibiotic levels in infected tissues

Summary
This study will measure how the antibiotic delafloxacin spreads into the blood and different body tissues of 20 adults with serious bacterial infections, including wound infections after heart surgery and infected joint replacements. Participants will continue their prescribed treatment while researchers collect blood samples and small tissue samples during planned surgery. The goal is to understand how well the drug reaches the site of infection and whether factors like age or kidney function affect its levels.
