AI scans could predict lung trouble in scleroderma patients

NCT ID NCT06472362

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether artificial intelligence can analyze CT scans of the lungs to predict how lung disease will progress in people with scleroderma (systemic sclerosis). Researchers will review past scans from 1000 patients to see if certain patterns in the airways and blood vessels can forecast worsening lung function, development of pulmonary hypertension, and survival. The goal is to better identify who needs more aggressive treatment.
