First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests a procedure called deep brain stimulation (DBS) for people with early Alzheimer's. A device sends mild electrical pulses to a brain area involved in memory. Half of the 12 participants will receive DBS, while the other half will receive standard care. The goal is to see if DBS can keep thinking skills stable or improve them for at least two years.
