Sleep pill may ward off Post-Surgery brain fog in seniors

Summary

This study tests whether daridorexant, a sleep medication, can prevent delirium (sudden confusion) after heart surgery. About 80 adults aged 60 and older having valve or bypass surgery will take either the drug or a placebo for three nights after surgery. Researchers will check for delirium and sleep quality during the first three days after the operation.
