New gel aims to zap persistent HPV in women

NCT ID NCT07601074

First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a gel called DARE-HPV can clear a persistent high-risk HPV infection in the genital area. About 118 premenopausal women aged 22-50 with a long-lasting infection will receive one of two doses of the gel for 14 or 21 days, or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the virus is gone 3 months after treatment ends.
