Simple HPV test before hysterectomy could stop cervical cancer before it starts
NCT ID NCT07545525
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study checks if testing for high-risk HPV before a subtotal hysterectomy can help prevent cervical cancer. About 300 women scheduled for this surgery will get an HPV test; if positive, they will have a cone biopsy to remove any precancerous cells during the same operation. The goal is to catch and treat early changes before they become cancer.
