At-Home HPV tests could boost cervical cancer screening in border communities

NCT ID NCT06825689

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether at-home HPV self-sampling (using urine or a vaginal swab) can help more people get screened for cervical cancer compared to the traditional in-clinic Pap smear. About 735 Latinx individuals aged 30-65 who haven't had a Pap test in at least three years will be randomly assigned to one of three screening methods. The goal is to find easier, more comfortable options that could prevent cervical cancer by catching it early.
