Could dancing slow Parkinson's brain damage? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT04122690
Summary
This study is testing if a specific type of partnered dance exercise is better than regular walking for people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers want to see if dance can reduce troublesome 'off-times' when medications wear off, improve memory and thinking, and potentially protect brain cells from further damage. The study will follow 82 people with mild to moderate Parkinson's for 16 months, comparing the effects of twice-weekly dance classes to a walking program.
