New robot could improve endometrial cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07027046

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study is testing a new robotic system, called da Vinci SP, for surgery to stage and treat endometrial cancer. The surgery involves removing the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes, and checking nearby lymph nodes. Researchers want to see if this robot is safe and effective for these procedures. About 564 patients will take part in this study across multiple centers.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Robotic surgical staging using the da Vinci SP system
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that the da Vinci SP system is a safe and effective option for endometrial cancer surgery, potentially improving recovery and outcomes.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a randomized trial, so results may be less definitive. Complications from surgery are possible, and the new robotic system may not offer advantages over existing methods.
