Summary
This study will use a new 3D imaging device (3D-EIT) to see if it can detect a pattern called 'cyclic on-off switching' of blood flow in the lungs of 40 adults with moderate to severe ARDS who are on mechanical ventilation. The goal is to validate whether this non-invasive, bedside tool can spot a potential cause of ventilator-induced lung injury. The study is not yet recruiting and is purely observational, aiming to improve understanding rather than test a treatment.
