One-and-Done radiation boost shows promise for breast cancer patients
NCT ID NCT02867423
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to give an extra dose of radiation (a boost) to the tumor site after standard breast radiation. Instead of multiple sessions, the CyberKnife machine delivered a single high dose very precisely, aiming to reduce skin damage and improve cosmetic results. The study included 29 women with early-stage breast cancer who had surgery and standard radiation. Doctors checked for skin side effects like redness and swelling to see if this approach was safe and effective.
