Brain surgery upgrade: could a tiny radiation implant keep tumors from coming back?
NCT ID NCT04690348
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether placing a small radiation device (Cs-131) into the brain during surgery can stop recurrent brain tumors from growing back. About 103 adults with previously treated brain metastases will be randomly assigned to get either standard surgery alone or surgery plus this implant. The goal is to see if the implant improves local tumor control without causing more side effects.
