Could a 5-Minute freeze replace opioids after mastectomy?

Summary
This study tests a one-time, non-opioid treatment called cryoneurolysis to reduce pain after mastectomy (breast removal surgery). By temporarily freezing the nerves that supply the breast, the goal is to lessen short- and long-term pain and cut down on opioid use. About 216 adults having mastectomy will receive either the real freeze or a sham procedure, and their pain and medication use will be tracked for two months.
