Freezing heart rhythms: new hope for heart failure patients?
NCT ID NCT04461691
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a procedure called cryoballoon ablation can safely treat atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) in people who also have severe heart failure. About 1,420 adults with both conditions received the freezing treatment to isolate the veins in the heart. The main goals were to see if the procedure prevents the irregular heartbeat from coming back and to check for serious side effects like stroke or bleeding.
