Freezing nerves vs. epidural: which eases post-surgery pain better?

NCT ID NCT07431632

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two ways to manage pain after minimally invasive pectus excavatum repair: freezing the intercostal nerves (cryoanalgesia) versus an epidural block. About 40 participants aged 13 and older will be randomly assigned to one method. The goal is to see which approach leads to a shorter hospital stay, less opioid use, and better pain control.
