Researchers probe why Crohn's disease may weaken teen bones

NCT ID NCT04508088

Summary

This study aims to understand how Crohn's disease affects bone health in teenagers. Researchers will compare bone marrow and bone density in 46 teens recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease against 46 healthy teens using MRI scans and blood tests. The goal is to learn if increased bone marrow fat is linked to weaker bones in Crohn's patients, which could inform future care.
