Summary

This study tests whether placing a short dental implant 2 mm below the bone crest (subcrestal) is better for bone and gum health than placing it right at the bone crest (crestal). About 58 adults needing a single tooth replacement in the back of the mouth will be randomly assigned to one of the two placement depths. Researchers will measure bone changes and gum health over 12 months using X-rays and clinical exams.
