First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a 10-week creative drama program can reduce gender role stress, aggression, and negative attitudes toward violence against women in men who survived the 2023 Türkiye earthquake. 75 married men aged 18-65 will be split into three groups: drama, film-watching, or no activity. Researchers will measure changes using questionnaires before and after the program.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Creative Drama Program
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a low-cost, non-drug way to reduce violence and improve mental health in men after a disaster.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 75 men in one region. Results may not apply to other groups, and the drama program may not change deep-seated attitudes.
