Creatine fails to ease Long-Term concussion symptoms in small trial

NCT ID NCT06644131

First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested whether taking creatine monohydrate daily for seven weeks could help people aged 20-45 who had persistent symptoms (like headaches, dizziness, or trouble concentrating) for 6-18 months after a mild concussion. The 34 participants were split into three groups: creatine, placebo, or usual care. While the trial showed it was possible to run such a study, the creatine group did not have significantly better symptom relief than the placebo or usual care groups. Larger studies are needed to see if creatine might still help some people.
