First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether taking creatine and HMB (a protein-like supplement) along with a supervised exercise program can improve physical function, muscle mass, thinking skills, and quality of life in frail older adults living in nursing homes. Fifty people aged 65 and older took part for 12 weeks, with some getting supplements and others a placebo. The goal is to find a safe, practical way to help seniors stay mobile and independent.
