First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether showing sleep apnea patients how their CPAP machine use compares to other patients helps them use it more regularly. About 186 adults who have been on CPAP for at least three months will be randomly assigned to get either their own usage data or their data plus group averages and rankings. The goal is to see if social comparison improves adherence over six months.
