Booster shot tested to protect most vulnerable from COVID

NCT ID NCT06027229

Summary

This study tested whether a specific type of COVID-19 booster vaccine (called a recombinant vaccine) could improve and sustain immune protection in people with weakened immune systems. It focused on adults with conditions like Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) or those who have received an organ transplant. Researchers measured immune responses and safety by taking blood samples before the booster, and then one month and six months after.
