Summary

This study aims to confirm that measuring how hard a person can cough while still wearing their tracheostomy tube can tell doctors when it's safe to remove it. Researchers will enroll 500 adults who have had a tracheostomy for at least two weeks and are breathing on their own. If the cough flow is strong enough, the tube will be removed, and the team will track how many people need it reinserted within two days.
