Scientists map how common steroids change your Brain's memory center
NCT ID NCT03896659
Summary
This study investigated how short-term steroid medication affects specific memory areas in the brain. Researchers gave healthy volunteers and some people with depression either hydrocortisone (a steroid) or a placebo for three days. They used detailed brain scans and memory tests to see how the medication changed brain activity and structure, particularly comparing responses between men and women and between healthy and depressed participants.
