First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether taking a cornelian cherry supplement for four weeks could improve heart and blood vessel function in healthy amateur long-distance runners over age 45. Eighteen participants received either the cherry extract or a placebo in a crossover design. Researchers measured blood pressure, vascular resistance, and chemoreflex sensitivity to see if the supplement had any effect.
