Blood marker may predict brain surgery complication in kids
NCT ID NCT06742060
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether measuring a substance called copeptin in the blood can help doctors diagnose central diabetes insipidus (CDI) in children after brain surgery. CDI causes extreme thirst and frequent urination due to a hormone imbalance. The study will track copeptin levels in 100 children in the ICU to see if they can tell the difference between temporary and permanent CDI.
