First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at whether having a heart doctor (cardiologist) check patients during a hospital stay for a COPD flare-up can find and treat hidden heart problems early. 150 adults with COPD will be split into two groups: one gets standard lung care, the other also gets a heart evaluation. Researchers will follow up for a year to see if heart treatments change or new heart issues appear.
