Can a website replace a genetic counselor? new study tests digital result delivery

NCT ID NCT06089954

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at two ways to share important genetic findings with people who joined a biobank. Some participants will get their results through a website or chatbot, while others will speak with a genetic counselor by phone or video. The goal is to see if the digital method works just as well for helping people understand their genetic risks for diseases like cancer or heart problems. About 2,500 adults who already have an actionable genetic mutation will take part.
