New ultrasound test could replace liver biopsies for fatty liver patients
NCT ID NCT07530419
First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looks at two different ultrasound machines to see if they can accurately measure liver stiffness and inflammation in people with fatty liver disease. About 95 to 100 adults will take part, including some healthy volunteers. The goal is to find a non-invasive way to tell simple fatty liver from more serious forms that need treatment, without needing a liver biopsy.
