First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 04, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at how much clear liquid (like water or juice) teens aged 13 to 17 can safely drink before an upper GI endoscopy. About 288 participants will be split into four groups, each drinking a different amount two hours before the procedure. Researchers will measure the leftover stomach fluid and acidity to help create better fasting guidelines.
