First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looked at different bone graft materials used during spinal fusion surgery for people with degenerative disc disease. 119 adults were randomly assigned to receive either their own bone, a protein that stimulates bone growth, or one of three stem-cell-based grafts made from donor tissue. The main goal was to see how well the spine fused together after surgery.
