Summary

This study tested a virtual companion program called MEMORI Corps. It matched trained senior volunteers with people living with dementia at home to provide regular companionship and personalized activities. The goal was to reduce social isolation for the person with dementia, ease the burden on their family caregiver, and provide meaningful engagement for the volunteers. Researchers measured changes in mood, behavior, quality of life, and caregiver stress.
