New ICU checklist aims to reduce suffering for dying patients

Summary
This study tests a simple checklist called CMOT to help ICU teams reduce distress when removing breathing machines from dying patients. About 184 patients and their care teams will take part across four ICUs. The goal is to see if this structured approach can make the process more comfortable and less distressing.
