New study: could 24/7 monitoring after surgery save lives?

NCT ID NCT07385092

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study is testing whether continuous monitoring of vital signs (like heart rate and oxygen levels) after non-cardiac surgery is better than the usual spot-checks by nurses. About 264 adults aged 45 and older will take part. The goal is to see if constant monitoring reduces the time patients have abnormal vital signs during the first 48 hours on the normal ward.
