New scaffold may boost surgery success for arm lymphedema

NCT ID NCT05825157

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special scaffold (Biobridge) to standard lymph node transfer surgery can better treat arm lymphedema, a chronic swelling condition often caused by cancer treatment. Researchers will compare the combination therapy to surgery alone in 60 adults aged 18-75 with stage I-II lymphedema. The goal is to see if the scaffold helps the transplanted lymph node connect and function properly, reducing arm swelling over 12 months.
