Better colon cancer detection for IBD patients? study tests two screening methods

NCT ID NCT04191655

Summary

This study compared two standard colonoscopy techniques used to screen for early colon cancer in people who have had inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) for over eight years. Researchers wanted to see if a newer high-definition camera method was as good as an older dye-spraying method at finding abnormal growths. Adult patients were randomly assigned to receive one of the two screening procedures during their regular colonoscopy check-up.
