First seen Dec 17, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking collagen hydrolysate (a type of collagen supplement) before a meal can help manage blood sugar spikes in people with normal blood sugar or prediabetes. Thirty adults participated in a double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial. The goal was to see if collagen affects blood sugar, insulin, and related hormones after eating. Results may help understand if collagen can be a simple dietary aid for blood sugar management.
