Brain training after ICU: hope for foggy minds?

NCT ID NCT04353804

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

Many people who survive a stay in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) develop long-term memory and thinking problems, similar to dementia. This study tests whether a computer-based cognitive rehabilitation program can help improve these issues. Researchers will enroll 160 ICU survivors and compare those who use the program to those who do not. The goal is to see if this portable and affordable approach can boost brain function and help people return to everyday tasks.
