Brain bias study seeks clues to mysterious environmental illness
NCT ID NCT06800976
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study compares 69 healthy volunteers to people with idiopathic environmental intolerance (IEI), a condition where patients experience symptoms like pain, fatigue, or dizziness from everyday exposures (e.g., chemicals, Wi-Fi) with no clear physical cause. Researchers will use computer tasks and picture tests to see if differences in how the brain processes beliefs and body signals explain these symptoms. The goal is to better understand IEI, not to test a treatment.
