Chocolate drink may counteract harm of sitting for seniors

NCT ID NCT07265869

Summary

This study tested whether drinking a cocoa beverage rich in natural plant compounds called flavanols could help protect blood vessel function during prolonged sitting. Twenty healthy adults aged 65+ drank either a high-flavanol or low-flavanol cocoa drink before sitting for two hours. Researchers measured blood vessel dilation and blood pressure to see if the cocoa could prevent the temporary decline in vascular health that often follows long periods of sitting.
