New hope to shield vulnerable kids from dangerous virus after transplant

Summary
This study is testing whether a drug called letermovir can prevent a serious viral infection called cytomegalovirus (CMV) in children and teenagers who have received a stem cell transplant. After a transplant, patients' immune systems are very weak, making them highly vulnerable to infections like CMV. The trial will give the drug daily for 14 weeks after transplant and closely monitor the children for signs of infection to see if it works.
