New vaccine aims to shield stem cell patients from dangerous virus

Summary
This early-phase trial tests a vaccine (CMV-MVA Triplex) given to both stem cell donors and recipients to boost immunity against cytomegalovirus (CMV) and prevent active infection after transplant. About 46 people with various blood cancers or disorders will take part. The goal is to see if the vaccine is safe and helps lower the risk of serious CMV complications.
