New wound dressing may speed healing after breast reconstruction
NCT ID NCT07546968
First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at 253 women who had breast reconstruction using their own tissue (DIEP flap) after mastectomy. Researchers compared a special vacuum-assisted wound dressing (closed-incision negative pressure therapy) to standard dressings to see if it reduced wound problems and shortened healing time. The goal was to find a better way to care for the surgical incision and improve recovery.
