AI takes on MS: new study aims to predict disease progression
NCT ID NCT07280871
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study will collect health data and samples from 100 people with multiple sclerosis over several years. Researchers will use artificial intelligence and data science to find patterns that could help predict how the disease will progress. The goal is to eventually personalize treatments for each patient, moving beyond the current one-size-fits-all approach.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to better ways to predict MS progression and tailor treatments to individual patients, improving long-term outcomes.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly benefit participants. The findings may take years to apply in practice and might not lead to immediate changes in care.
