Which antiseptic works best for revision joint surgery? new trial aims to find out

Summary

This study compares two antiseptic skin preparations (chlorhexidine-alcohol vs. povidone-iodine) used before revision hip or knee replacement surgery to reduce bacteria on the skin. The main goal is to see which one better prevents the need for another surgery due to infection or wound problems within one year. About 400 adults having aseptic revision joint replacement will take part, and they will complete short surveys at 30 days and one year after surgery.
