New cocktail targets Hard-to-Treat leukemia
NCT ID NCT07311746
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early-phase trial tests whether combining three drugs—ruxolitinib, cladribine, and venetoclax—can control T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL) that has returned or not responded to prior treatment. The study will enroll 36 adults and primarily monitor safety and side effects. It is not yet recruiting.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
A combination of three drugs: ruxolitinib (Jakafi), cladribine (Mavenclad), and venetoclax (Venclexta)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for patients with a rare and aggressive leukemia that has stopped responding to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with only 36 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The drug combination may cause significant side effects or fail to control the disease.
