Summary

This study tested a program called ImPart-Multi, where a trained helper (lay navigator) coached Black patients with chronic kidney disease and their care partners on how to work together when making health decisions. 22 patients and their care partners joined. Patients completed 1 to 4 education sessions by phone or video, and both patients and partners filled out surveys and interviews to see if the program was easy to use and helpful. The goal was to see if this approach is worth testing in a larger study.
